After attending the esteemed Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY, Ron took his skills abroad. Following an apprenticeship at La Galleria Ristorante in the Netherlands, Chef Ron founded Mare Blu, an upscale Italian/Mediterranean restaurant and boutique catering business based in California. After years of success, including receiving acclaim by Gourmet Magazine and being featured on the Sunset Magazines television series, "Best of California," the St. John Restaurant Group in the Virgin Islands requested Ron’s services to re-open three failing restaurants. Ron rapidly and successfully revitalized all three outlets, bringing them out of near closure to an annual increase in revenue of over one million. Returning to California, Chef Ron spent time as a private chef in Beverly Hills where he conceptualized and executed dinner parties in a multi-million-dollar estate and opened Pearl Global Cuisine in the heart of Santa Barbara, California wine country. Chef Ron’s culinary prowess served some of Hollywood’s A-list celebrities, even being specifically requested by Josh Brolin, Diane Lane, Tony Bennet, Barbara Streisand, and others.
Seeking a more family-oriented schedule, Ron moved to Portland, Oregon and opened an upscale café in the Intel NW executive offices for Bon Appetit Management Company. Within one year of being open, the café was rated number one in North America in every category by Intel survey - a first in Oregon history. Chef Ron's classical training in fine dining has complemented his leadership role as a corporate executive chef for a regional brewery of nine brewpubs, and additionally as an executive chef for an established Italian cuisine restaurant group of seven restaurants. Chef Ron's confident, charismatic demeanor, and culinary enthusiasm will foster growth and confidence in your entire staff. His love and innate passion for hospitality is infectious and exciting.
